Cougars heading to Vegas Friday

WESTON RANCH — The Cougars are hoping to go on a roll.

But in order to do so, they’ll have to first get past Valley Oak League rival East Union High on Friday.

Weston Ranch High, coming off a lopsided 44-0 loss to Manteca in last week’s opener, will also have to deal with a flurry of activities on tap for this week as part of its 2009 fall homecoming.

This year’s theme is “Cougars Go to Vegas,” with the theme for each day based on a popular casino on the Las Vegas strip.

Take Monday, for example, where the day was entitled “Cougars Catch Headlines and Highlights at New York, New York.” The dress for the day was sports related.

Crazy colors and crazy hair was the call for Tuesday, with the theme “Cougars See the Sights at Circus Circus.”

Spirit week continues today with “Cougars Stay Classy at the Bellagio.” Students will have a chance to wear formal attire to school.

On Thursday, Weston Ranch will look more like something out of a music video with “Cougars Rock on at the Hard Rock.”

Students can dress up as members of a musical group or performer.

Finally, Weston Ranch concludes the week with “Cougars Come Home for Homecoming.”

Capping off the festivities will be the crowning of a homecoming queen and princess during half-time of the Cougars game against visiting East Union.
