Give Every Child a Chance (GECAC) is once again offering the Service Challenge Scholarship.

Ten $1,000 scholarships are available to one graduating senior selected from each high school in Manteca Unified School District (Sierra, Calla, Manteca, East Union, Lathrop, Weston Ranch and New Vision High Schools), as well as Escalon and Ripon High Schools and one from the Tracy Community.

The scholarship is open to all graduating seniors who volunteered at GECAC within the past four years. Volunteer service hours with GECAC can be in any capacity such as tutoring, program aide, office assistant, working a fundraiser or special event. Number of volunteer hours with GECAC is not a factor to apply.

You must have contributed at least 100 hours of community service within the past four years of high school with various organizations. Not all hours must be served at GECAC. Letters of proof are required from the organization(s) that you completed the community service.

No minimum grade point average is required. There is only one scholarship entry per student.

Applications are now available at each high school counseling office, on the GECAC website www.gecac.net or can be obtained by contacting Chuck Crutchfield at the GECAC Community Outreach Office at 823.6532 or ccrutchfield@gecac.net.

All completed applications must be turned into the applicant’s high school counseling office or to the GECAC Community Outreach Office located at 610 Commerce Court by April 1.Late or incomplete entries will not be considered.
