Anthony Dahl is perhaps better known to Manteca Unified School District students as an instrumental music teacher.

But at the Evening With the Arts dinner under the stars Wednesday, April 6, in Manteca High’s quad, Dahl will show the other side of his musical acumen – a tenor singing Italian songs accompanied by Buffalo student Natalie Pio on the piano.

The rest of the evening’s entertainment will feature the members of Manteca High’s chapter of the Tri-M Club, a national honor society for students of music.

The musicians will serenade guests, who pay $8 each for the dinner and entertainment, from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

The following will be the highlights of the program: clarinet trio featuring Timmey Ellefson, Jeremy Logoteta, and Natalie Pio; barbershop quartet composed of Josh Nkwocha, Lawrence Turner, Patrick Ho and Dan Rahovit; guitar and vocals by Ben Tolman; solo clarinet by Natalie Pio; flute duet by Cassidy Jones and Christina Rodriguez; a jazz combo featuring Dylan ‘Sax Man” Craig on the saxophone; Italian songs by tenor Dahl with Natalio Pio on the piano; a brass quintet made up of Zach Williams, Ben Tolman, Anthony Dillingham, Anthony Dahl and Mario Gaytan; more guitar and vocals by Ian F., and soprano Mary Monaghan.

Guests will be dining on brisket, beans, salad, rolls and drinks for donation of $8 each. Other artistic attractions to be displayed will be the works of students in Mindi Dolson and Kirt Giovannoni’s award-winning art classes and in Samel Dolson’s drafting class.

In addition to the outdoor program, there will be free performances in the Winter gym that evening featuring the following: band from 5 to 6 p.m., choir from 6 to 6:30 p.m., and theater from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Art work by various students also will be on display that evening at the aforementioned venues.

Proceeds from the annual fund-raiser will go to the various departments represented, according to Kathy Ruble, the president of the Manteca High Academic Boosters Club which is sponsoring the event. This is the first time entertainment and dinner was added to the evening extravaganza.

For more information about the event, call Julie at 858-7340 ext. 56958 or Kathy at 858-0832. Tickets are available in the Manteca High School office at 450 E. Yosemite Avenue during regular school hours.
