A series of multi-cultural events will be held next week at Lathrop High.

During the two lunch periods – 10:51 to 11:21 a.m. (first lunch) and 12:27 to 12:57 p.m. – the school at 647 Spartan Way in Lathrop will celebrate various cultures in the quad.

Included are the following:

• Monday – Indian / Middle Eastern Day. Students and staff will have a chance get their henna tattoos and enjoy a fashion show along with music, dances, and possibly sample some of the cultural foods.

• Tuesday – Hispanic / Latino Day. Food samples will definitely be offered on this day. Some of the traditional music and dances will also be performed.

• Wednesday – API Day. Dances from the various Asian Pacific Islander groups along with music and possible food samplings will be made available during lunch.

• Thursday – African Day. A fashion show coupled with dances (probably), music and cultural facts will be featured.

• Friday – LHS Day. A car show will highlight multi-cultural week. Food samples from businesses are also a possibility.

In addition, the school has scheduled a carnival for Thursday during lunch sessions. Offered will be various food items for sale.
