Yes on Q effort surpasses $100K to push passage
Manteca businesses, labor groups, firefighters, local residents, youth sports organizations, and builders have a lot riding on Measure Q on Tuesday’s ballot. As of Oct. 27, the Yes on Q Committee has now raised $103,549.30 to fund its campaign to gain passage of the 20-year long three-quarter cent sales tax on Nov. 5.

Lathrop High staging ‘Lucky Lucky Hudson’

Lathrop High will be hosting the one-act musical “Lucky Lucky Hudson” in November.

The LHS Arts Boosters is the presenting the play that’s under the direction of Hali Rosen – Sam Berlin is the assistant director, Teresa Lorenz is handling costumes and Kellie MacKinnon is doing the graphics.

“Lucky Lucky Hudson” is based on the book by Tim Kelly with music and lyrics by Bill Francoeur.

Lucky Hudson, in the play, is the crime-fighting hero going up against zany gangsters such as Ma Cribbs, Mad Dog Myrtle, Two-Gun Tommy, Petty-Larceny Jane, and Big Al, Little Al and Medium Al, just to name a few.

The music is comprised of Chicago jazz, Ragtime, and Blues.

All evening and matinee performances are $8 and free for ASB students with ID.

Free admission for all Manteca Unified students is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 9, at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Regular show times will be Thursday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m.; Friday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 10, at 2 & 7 p.m.; Thursday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m.; and Friday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m.

The Lathrop Theatre Arts Department is located at 647 Spartan Way.
