Trustees of the Manteca Unified School District accepted the final completion of the Lathrop High stadium.

No discussion was necessary on the consent item at last Tuesday’s school board meeting.

Total cost of Lathrop High was $89.25 million, with funding, according to staff report, made possible by the voter-approved Measure M ($24 million), developer fees ($9.7 million), state contribution ($32 million), City of Lathrop ($1 million) and Mello Roos.
The primary work on the lease-lease back project was conducted by F&H Construction of Stockton.

Architect Urban Ernst of Urban Ernst Design Group drew up the plans for the stadium.

The facility saw action during the first week of the prep football season, with the Lathrop High Spartans falling to Valley Oak League power Sierra.

In other action, the board approved to place David Chavez on the 39-month re-employment list as the server systems analyst at the district office.

His position along with that of budget / accounting technician had been vacated due to the hiring freeze implemented by the board in response to recent budget shortfall.

As part of the hiring freeze, the board directed administration to review the current vacancies and to make recommendations for filling those positions as needed.
