Making the grade as top senior grads for Manteca high school campuses

Manteca high schools have announced the names of the students who are graduating at the top of the Class of 2012. Lathrop High School and Weston Ranch High have yet to release the names of their top seniors.

Manteca High School has two co-valedictorians. They are Myklyn Bolmut and Nicole Deleon. Salutatorian is Lisa Yun.

Leading her graduating class at East Union High School as valedictorian is Cameron Shields, with Alison Telles as the salutatorian.

The valedictorian for the Class of 2012 at Sierra High School is Nicole England, with Francis Scherry as salutatorian.

Lathrop High School and Weston Ranch High School are not releasing the names of their valedictorians and salutatorians at this time. A school staff at Lathrop High School said Thursday that the names of the graduating top students are being kept “kind of a secret right now” until the day of the annual senior awards when their identities will be announced.  The senior awards ceremony is scheduled for May 2.

At Weston Ranch High School, the names of the valedictorian and salutatorian also are not being revealed until May 16, according to the school staff who relayed the information that came from the school principal.

Three of the high schools – Manteca High, Weston Ranch, and East Union – are holding their graduation ceremonies on the same day – Friday, May 25, at their respective stadium areas. Having their graduation programs a day earlier on Thursday, May 24, are Sierra High and Lathrop High School.

All graduation ceremonies at all the above high schools will begin at 7 p.m.

Calla High School, the Manteca Adult School, and New Vision High School in Weston Ranch will hold their graduation exercises on Friday, May 18. Calla High ceremonies will be held at Crossroads Community Church on Moffat Boulevard starting at 7 p.m. New Vision High School will have its graduation ceremonies at the school gym starting at 7 p.m. The Manteca Adult School will have its commencement exercises in the board room at the Manteca Unified School District facility starting at 10 a.m. The Adult School program was moved from the old Lindbergh School on East North Street to the district offices last school  year due to budget cuts.
