Many campuses in the Manteca Unified School District are doing their part to raise money to help the people of Haiti.
According to the website, www.mantecausd.net, Neil Hafley School, for example, collected over $1,600 in change, with two eighth-grade students organizing the fundraiser by placing coffee cans in each classroom.
Students at Lathrop School collected shoes for soles4souls.org.
At New Haven, peer helpers led the “Hearts for Haiti” efforts. Every student, parent, and staff member who brought in a dollar had a heart written with their name posted in the cafeteria. Donations went to the American Red Cross.
French Camp students raised $180 to purchase PUR Packets to help filter clean water to six Haitian families for about a year.
The leadership class at Great Valley collected coins benefiting “Help for Haiti.”
Golden West went with “Dollars for Haiti” drive. Proceeds were donated to Red Cross.
The New Vision Education Center in Weston Ranch had one club conducting the “Change for Haiti,” with proceeds also going to Red Cross for the relief efforts.
