Jamie Cameron helps operate the International Self Defense Institute at 1140 N. Main St.

With possible layoffs to nearly 260 teachers, she and sensei Mark Cameron are opening their doors to these classroom instructors and their family, offering free martial arts lessons.

“Bring your pink slip into our dojo,” she said at the Pink Friday Rally at North Main Street and Yosemite Avenue. “We want Manteca Unified to know how much we support our teachers.”

Lessons are offered to adults and children in Manteca, Lathrop, Tracy, French Camp, Stockton and Modesto.

Included are the disciplines of Shaolin Kempo, Shotokan, Go Shin Ryu, American kickboxing, and cardio kickboxing.

“We would like to challenge all of the other businesses in Manteca to offer their support in the same fashion (for our teachers).”
