Each year, Victoria Brunn takes students from her Regional Occupational Program’s Fashion Merchandising class to Los Angeles.

During the overnight stay scheduled Feb. 27, they’ll attend various places, with the prestigious Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising being among the points of interest.

“We try to squeeze as much in 28 hours as possible,” Brunn said on Thursday.

But in order to get there, her ROP students will conduct a series of fundraisers, including the upcoming Red Tag Sale planned for Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Lindbergh Educational Center auditorium, 311 E. North Street.

Many new and slightly used items have been donated to the cause from local businesses. Among the contributors for this year fundraiser are the Target stores in Lathrop and Manteca, TJ Maxx, Clothes Avenue, Hollywood Entertainment, and Delicato’s Tasting Room, according to Brunn.

“We’re featuring items such  as flannel bed sheets and garden chairs,” she said.

The Red Tag Sale is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon.

But Brunn indicated that the best way to snatch up any of these hot ticket items is by attending the Early Bird Preview beginning at 8 a.m. Cost is $5 at the door.

“This is the second year of the Red Tag Sale,” she said. “Last year’s was great fun.”
