Ripon board reviews state budget impacts

RIPON – Trustees of the Ripon Unified School District will meet tonight to discuss the impact of the state budget.

Gov. Jerry Brown recently released a balanced state budget.

Included were $12.5 billion in cuts, affecting the take-home pay for most state employees and proposals to restructure many government operations.

The one area spared was that of kindergarten- through 12th- grade education.

The open session begins at 7 p.m. in the Ripon High multi-purpose room.

Other agenda items include:

•Student store report of a net profit of $13,000.72 for December.

•The first interim report for 2010-2011 budget.

•A strategic plan consisting of updated goals for this year.

•Enrollment report consisting of the past six months of the school year.

In addition, the board will consider approving a license agreement with the caretaker of the school farm and hear the JROTC update.
