The Ripon Unified school board accepted several resignations of two prominent positions at the Dec. 14 meeting.

Included was that of longtime Ripon High football coach Chris Johnson and RHS Junior Reserve Officers Training Corp instructor John Tao.

“Serving this school and this community as RHS’s head football coach has been a privilege,” said Johnson in his letter.

Tao noted that he was hired at Manteca Unified for a similar teaching position. “I have enjoyed my time and experience at RHS – I will always remember and treasure the motivation, dedication, and quality of colleagues and cadets I worked with,” he said.

Trustees also accepted letters of resignation from Monica Garza (Colony Oak Elementary School) and Latecia Peacock (RHS campus security).

As for the new hires, the board agreed to bring on a pair of night custodians in Eugene Torres (Ripon Elementary) and Jordan Dahlin (Ripona Elementary), and the following substitute teachers – Bienvenida Hinrichsen, Emily Fredriks, Nicole Felkins, Kristi Rigg, Justin Graham, and Nicole Reynosa.
