TRACY – Bob Elliott, San Joaquin County Supervisor, District 5, will deliver the keynote address at this year’s Delta Charter High School Commencement Exercises.

The annual event will be Saturday, May 30, at noon in the Teranishi Event Center on the New Jerusalem Elementary School District grounds.

“We are thrilled Supervisor Elliott has accepted our invitation,” said Jeff Tilton, Superintendent, Charter Schools. “I believe our graduation candidates and their respective families will be moved by his address. His background, alone, could be a movie!”

Elliott is no stranger to speaking at Commencement Exercises, as he was his class valedictorian and student council president while a high school student in Kansas. He also graduated in the top five percent of his class at West Point.

Elliott served in the United States Army for 30 years and retired as Colonel of the Army’s Special Forces (Green Berets).

Supervisor Elliott was elected to the Board of Supervisors in 2012 and serves the area where most of Delta Charter High School students live.

Elliott follows a roster of past keynote speakers including John Borba, CSU Stanislaus; and, Mick Founts, San Joaquin County Superintendent of Schools (retired).

Delta Charter High School’s sister school, Delta Charter Online, will hold its ceremonies the same day at 9 a.m. Its keynote speaker is pending.
