Eighth-grade students at Stella Brockman School bid adieu Wednesday.

During the promotion event held in the Multi-Purpose Building, 111 youngsters were recognized for fulfilling the necessary requirements for high school.

Some even went above and beyond.

Ravneet Dhillon, Jordan Flores, Madison McClure, Jesus Morales, Albert Paez, Jose Perez Picon, James Quiaoit, Javier Ramirez, Simardeep Singh, Xochitl Torres Muniz, Hallie Trzcinski, and Lindsey Walljasper were recognized for the making 4.0 Honor Roll for every trimester.

Ditto for Sulayman Aimaque, Carson Anderson, Nathan Azevedo, Hayden Borgeson, Alejandro DeAnda, Elijah Jacobsen, Estefania Leyva Ramirez, Sonia Mendez, Jackie Thai, and Yosef Towfique. They made the 3.5 Honor Roll during the same span.

Elijah Jacobsen kicked off the special program by welcoming those in attendance and leading the flag salute.

Angel Higares and Christine Lokey performed the Star Spangled Banner.

Principal Candace Espinola provided the introductions while announcing the achievement award winners. She also made the presentation of the classmates for the awarding of their promotional certificates.

Distributing the certificates were Manteca Unified board President Don Scholl and Trustee Sam Fant.
