Each year, the Sierra High Athletic Boosters conduct two major fundraisers.

The second of the two is the Wine Social planned for Saturday at Delicato Winery, 12001 S. Highway 99, from 6 to 8 p.m.

A dinner dance was held in the fall.

The Delicato Wine Social is open to those 21 and older. Cost is $15 per person and includes finger foods, drinks, silent auction, drawing of prizes, and, of course, wine tasting.

“Every penny of what we raise goes directly to the athletic teams at Sierra,” said Lori Brocchini Mackey of the Athletic Boosters.

The group is made up of current SHS parents along with some former students who have already graduated from the school.

As for the fundraisers, they continue to help in purchasing new equipment – hurdles for the track team and helmets for football program, for example – and materials as needed for each team, from popup tents to cameras and sound systems.

“Our commitment to the student athletes goes far above just watching our own children in their sports,” Mackey added. “We are committed to making Sierra athletic programs better for all of our athletes.”
