Manteca Unified will finally bid adieu to year-round education come next week with the eighth-grade promotion exercises at Great Valley, George Komure and August Knodt schools.

The kindergarten-through-eighth-grade campuses in Weston Ranch will move to a more traditional calendar as voted by the school board back last fall.

A pair of eighth-grade graduation events is planned for 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, at Great Valley and George Komure.

The Pomp and Circumstance for Komure will be held inside the multi-purpose room of the school located at 2121 Henry Long Blvd.

The eighth-grade event at Great Valley School is planned for the gym at the main site, 4223 McDougald Ave.

On Thursday, June 25, eighth-grade students at August Knodt School will be recognized at the promotion event that begins at 7 p.m. inside the Weston Ranch High gymnasium.

More information is available at the respective school sites or the district office, (209) 825-3200.
