The San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters office in Stockton announced filing for the race for the full-term on the Ripon Consolidated Fire District was extended through 5 p.m. today.
Incumbent Jeff Rankin was the only one of the three incumbents not to file during last weekend’s deadline. He and Don Wever, who had re-upped for another full term, were serving out their four years on the post.
Tamra Spade, who was serving out her short two-year term, also filed for four years, leaving one open slot.
The race for the two-year term is closed, with incumbent Harrison Gibbs running unopposed. This means he’ll be automatically appointed to his seat, according to SJC Registrar of Voters.
Ditto that for the Ripon Unified school board race, where newcomer Caroline Hutto and incumbent Christina Orlando will receive automatic appointments.
Hutto, who is listed as parent / business owner, will soon take over the Trustee Area 4 seat currently occupied by Mike Fisher, who didn’t re-up for another term.
Orlando was unopposed. That means she’ll continue to serve as the Trustee Area 5 representative for another four years.
The Ripon City Council race will include incumbent Jake Park, Leo Zuber and Mark Winchell facing challenges from business owner John Mangelos, engineer Daniel De Graaf and retired police Mario Gonzales.
