Free food distribution set for Thursday

Low-income residents of San Joaquin County will be able to obtain free government surplus food on Thursday, January 21, at locations throughout San Joaquin County. Distribution will continue until supplies are exhausted.

The food products will be given to those who go to the site in their zip code area and self-certify that they are residents of San Joaquin County whose household incomes are within the program guidelines. Total monthly income cannot exceed $1, 354 for one person; $1,821 for two; $2,289 for three; $2,756 for four; $3,224 for five and $3,691 for a household of 6 persons.

They need to bring proof of their address, zip code, identification and a paper bag.

Recipients must go to the site in their zip code area.

County locations:
• Lathrop - Lathrop Senior Center, 15557 E 5th St. 8 to 11 a.m.
• Manteca - Manteca Library, 320 W. Center, 7 to 9 a.m.
• Escalon - CARE Center, 8 to 10 a.m.
• Ripon - Ripon Community Center, 312 W 4th St., 7 to 9 a.m.
