MODESTO – The Modesto Junior College Civic Engagement Project (CEP) invites the community to a screening of the film Documented on Thursday, October 16, at 7 p.m. in Forum 110 on MJC’s East Campus, 435 College Avenue.  The free event is part of the CEP Fall Film and Lecture Series.  Campus parking is available for $2 in student parking lots.

Documented follows the life of Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Jose Antonio Vargas, an immigration-reform activist who outed himself as an undocumented immigrant in a 2011 New York Times article. In the film, Vargas shares moving examples from his own life and family history to illustrate his view that our immigration system needs to be changed.

Following the film there will be a facilitated discussion.
