The Manteca Branch Library will host “We Got Game!” on Friday, April 9, at 3:30 p.m.

Pre-teens and teens can stop by anytime for an afternoon of fun and competition, featuring some of today’s most popular video games like Wii and Guitar Hero.  Favorite non-electronic games like Scrabble, Sorry, Jenga and others will also be available to play.  For those purists in the crowd, old-school favorites like chess and checkers will make an appearance.

While waiting for your turn to Wii, there will be playing cards and jigsaw puzzles to pass the time.  Feel free to bring your own favorite games.  Come test your skills, learn tricks and tips from other game enthusiasts, and discover what related print and online resources are available at the library.  These two fun-filled hours are absolutely free and snacks will be provided.  Nothing to bring but your “game face.”   The program will be repeated on May 14.

The Manteca Branch Library presents an Earth Day Book Bonanza on Wednesday, April 21, at 4 p.m.

Participants will enjoy books and songs, with an Earth Day theme, followed by crafts utilizing recycled materials.  Continue the learning by checking out books, reviewing online databases, and searching the Internet.

The free programs are provided through the generosity of the Friends of the Manteca Library.  The Manteca Branch Library is a part of the Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library and is located at 320 W Center St., Manteca.  For more information, call (866) 805-7323 (READ) (County)    (209) 937-8221 (Stockton), or visit www.stockton.lib.ca.us.
