LATHROP – The regularly scheduled Lathrop City Council meeting on Monday, Feb. 15, has been cancelled due to the observance of Presidents Day, a national holiday.

That meeting will be held instead on Monday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall, 390 Towne Centre Drive.

Those who miss the live broadcast that evening, or are unable to attend the meeting, will be able to catch up on the discussions and council’s actions by watching either one of two rebroadcasts during the week: the first one on Tuesday at 7 p.m., and on Wednesday at noon. In fact, all council meetings are aired during those two days after each regular meeting.

This is the second time the council has moved a meeting date since they voted unanimously in December to change the schedule from Tuesday nights to Monday nights. The Jan. 18 meeting was also moved a week later due to the national observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day which was a holiday.

The council’s regular meetings are held the first and third Monday of the month, under the new schedule that they unanimously adopted in December 2009. The meetings were previously on the first and second Tuesday of the month.

All regular council meetings are aired live on Cable Channel 97.

During the live broadcasting of the council meetings, those watching at home who experience technical problems – audio, visual or otherwise – can call City Hall at (209) 941-7342 to report the problem.
