Great Valley Museum celebrates spring with open house and native plant sale

MODESTO – Great Valley Museum of Modesto Junior College invites the community to a Spring Open House on Saturday, April 3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Guests can tour the museum displays and participate in special activities. Admission is free.

Linda Knoll, local artist and author, will read her just-released children’s picture book “Over in the Valley” at noon and again at 2 p.m.  The book, which features plants and animals of the Central Valley, will be available for purchase and signing by the author. Children can take part in creating a watercolor mural inspired by the book between readings.


The California Native Plant Society will hold a native plant sale in the garden and a wildflower show in the Museum Annex. A natural history used-book sale will also take place in the Annex.
