TONIGHT

• HARVEST PARTY: The annual Place of Refuge Harvest Party is tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the church on Button Avenue near the Yosemite Avenue and Highway 99 exit in Manteca. There will be games, candy, face painting, bounce houses, costume contests, and a guest appearance by the Ninja Turtles. The cost will be one bag of candy per child.

 

THURSDAY, OCT. 30

• BROCK ELLIOTT HARVEST FESTIVAL: Brock Elliott will host its annual Harvest Festival on Thursday, Oct. 30, on campus from 4:30 to 7 p.m, followed by Trunk or Treat in the front parking lot from 7 to 8.  The evening will feature pumpkin-decorating and pie-eating contests, carnival games, a photo booth, food and other vendors, as well as an appearance by the Sierra High Timberwolf mascot. Kids are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes. The school is seeking candy donations for its Trunk or Treat. Donations can be dropped off inside the front office. THURSDAY-FRIDAY, OCT. 30-31

• MAD SCIENTIST LABORATORY: The free Mad Scientist Laboratory that includes candy for kids is Thursday, Oct. 30, from 6 to 9 p.m., and Friday, Oct. 31, from 6 to 10 p.m. at 1373 Parjaro Ave., Manteca. It is recommended for ages 5 and up.

 

FRIDAY, OCT. 31

• TRUNK OR TREAT IN RIPON: Immanuel Christian Reformed Church will host a “Trunk or Treat” event for families looking for a safe, fun environment for celebrating Halloween, Oct. 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the church parking lot. Vans, trucks and car trunks will be decorated in a fun way by several families and groups. There will be face-painting for those who would like it (at no cost) as well as a few carnival games. Candy, apple cider and coffee will be available. Trunk or Treat will be located behind the Ministry Center, off of Palm. Parking will be available on the south end of Orange Avenue.

 

FRIDAY, OCT. 31

• HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL: St. Paul’s United Methodist Church will be hosting a Halloween Carnival on Friday, Oct. 31, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the St. Paul’s Fellowship Hall at the corner of Powers and North Streets. There will be carnival games, food and of course lots of candy. Tickets for the games will be sold in a pack of eight for $1. A hot dog, chips and beverage meal will be sold for $2 and a pumpkin pie slice will be $1.50.

 

FRIDAY, Oct. 31

• TRUNK OR TREAT: Join Crossroads Grace Community Church for their Trunk or Treat Extravaganza on Friday, Oct. 31, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at their parking lot at 1505 Moffat Blvd. All ages are welcome. There will be lots of candy, games, prizes, inflatables, ponies and a live band. Food vendors will be on site with food for sale. The event is free.

 

FRIDAY, OCT. 31

• FAMILY FALL FEST: Thrive Church in Lathrop, formerly known as the Lathrop Christian Center, is hosting a Family Fall Fest from 7 to 9 p.m. Children and their families will have plenty of fun activities to do including games, candy, and food. It is a kick-off to the Nov. 2 grand opening and dedication of the church’s new quarters in the building on the corner of Towne Centre Drive and Manthey Road. The public is invited. 

 

FRIDAY, OCT. 31

• ST. ANTHONY SCHOOL SAFE HALLOWEEN: Games, food, and a variety of attractions will be featured in this Safe Halloween festivity to be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the school gymnasium located at 323 N. Fremont Ave., corner Sutter Street. Admission is free. Tickets may be purchased at 25 cents apiece. Call the school office at 823-4513 for further details.

 

FRIDAY, SATURDAY, OCT. 31-NOV. 1

• SCARY HOUSE: It’s going to be spooky and scary in the Scary Perry Haunted House, 1576 Sage Sparrow Ave., on Friday, Oct. 31 and Saturday, Nov.1, at 7 p.m. Children two and younger are free, 17 and under $1 and adults pay $2. Unlimited wristband is available for $5 for adults or $3 for children. A special bundle for $20 will get you a Scary Perry shirt, one adult and two children wristbands and a front-of-the-line access at purchase. For more info call 209.239.3919
