Chamber presents leadership awards

The Ripon Chamber of Commerce has installed Harrison Gibbs as its chairman.
City Councilman Jake Parks served as the master of ceremonies for the chamber’s annual installation and awards dinner conducted Thursday at Spring Creek Country Club.
Laura Spence was selected as Volunteer of the Year and Mona Restuccia, Board Member of the Year.  Firefighter of the Year honors went to Battalion Chief Greg Bauman.  Business of the Year choice went to the California Rock Crushers known for their Clydesdale horse team.
Small Business of the Year honors was awarded to the Ripon Roadhouse restaurant while the Citizen of the Year is Connie Jorgenson.  The Extraordinary Service Award was presented to Dean Uecker.  The Agricultural Business Leader of the Year honor went to Van Groningen and Sons.
Other recognitions during the evening included Police Officer of the Year. Educators of the Year – Ripon Unified – and Ripon Christian and to the California Connections Academy in separate awards.   A Youth Citizen of the Year recognition were honored from Ripon Unified, Ripon Christian Schools and the California Connections Academy.
Ripon Mayor Dean Uecker conducted the formal installation of new board member Dr. Debbie Daniels, Kyle Wolterstorff and Lori Adams.
