It was “a lot like Christmas” for the senior residents and their family members at The Commons at Union Ranch retirement center Tuesday night.
Professional Soloist Shannon Mahoney-Scott set the yuletide mood for some 80 diners singing a variety of Christmas melodies from years past starting with, of course, “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot like Christmas.” She continued her presentation as a background to the prime rib dinner.
General Manager George Dewick led his staff of managers-turned-waiters in dancing around the tables serenading the dinner crowd. Dewick took the part of a French maître ‘d and wowed the guests with his singing and dancing theatrics.
Two residents, Marilyn McGlynn and Josephine Leandro were presented with balloon bouquets and chocolates for their birthdays. Bud Lawlor was given a certificate of appreciation for calling bingo twice a week for two hours at a time.
