Debbie Johnson has joined the advertising sales staff at the Manteca Bulletin.

She served in a similar position with the Bay Area News Group and the Tracy Press over the past 14 years.

Johnson’s enjoys in helping retail, commercial and professional firms with their advertising – especially the “mom and pop” stores that may need help in developing their advertising layouts – the most to get the results they need and want.

“For me I love helping people create – start from a seed – and help them build an ad, and see them enjoy their success,” she said.  “I get the most joy out of that.”

Advertisers need to understand it takes about nine times to really make an impression with a company’s advertising. Advertising works if it’s consistent, she added.

Debbie admits she has the “gift of gab” in her like for people and getting to know them professionally.  “It’s something I like most about sales is getting to know people and to learn how they think about their businesses.”

She said she has learned so much from her life experiences especially in her family life as a child.  “My father pretty much molded me and I learned how to cook from my mom.  My dad told me to remember ‘nothing is forever’ – he taught me that every day.  It got me through many situations in life.”

Johnson said she consistently learns something new every day about life’s situations and challenges from the people she interacts with in her job.

Thoughts about growing up also swirled around her mom who she said taught her all those little things that a lady should know including cooking Italian dinners. Her favorite entrée is Fettuccini Alfredo.

In her off hours she said she enjoys spending time with family and especially her children and her three dogs – two Yorkies, a Rottweiler and a cat.
