This  Saturday evening’s casino night at the MRPS Hall on North Grant Street  is once again benefiting the successful tutoring program offered by Give Every Child A Chance.

Donation for the event is $35 in exchange for $2,000 in script, food and entertainment.  Doors open at 6 p.m. with play until midnight. The “Kings and Queens” event includes a Texas Hold‘em tournament and the donation cost of one ticket provides food, entertainment and $2,000 in script to be used at the tables.

The live auction’s long list of items begins with a dinner for 20 to be held in an orchard with a minimum bid set at $3,000.  An events package valued at $500 is also up for grabs in the auction.

Dinner for 20 at Chez Shari, a firefighters progressive dinner for four, a haunted “Paranormal Adventure,” along with a hand-crafted copper and wooden western style coat rack with tickets to the 2012 Ropin’ on the River Rodeo, a spayed 10-week-old shorthaired Austrailian Shepherd mix and an “unbeatable” golf package are all going on the block.

Tickets are available at Golden Valley Credit Union, Bank of Stockton, Manteca Convention and Visitors’ Bureau, the GECAC offices as well as through the group’s board members.

All proceeds will go toward supporting GECAC’s free tutoring service impacting over 3,000 children in Manteca, Ripon, Escalon, Lathrop, French Camp, Weston Ranch, and Banta. The non-profit offers one-on-one tutoring using volunteers, homework assistance and after-school programs.
