LATHROP – The Eagle’s Nest Harley-Davidson in Lathrop is hosting a blood drive Sunday, July 18, for 20-year-old Sierra Johnson of Manteca.

For each donor, Delta Blood Bank will donate $10 to help with Johnson’s transfusion fees. The blood bank will also have a free gift for each donor who will take part in the event to be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Eagle’s Nest Harley-Davidson is located on the east frontage road, or North Harlan Road, on the east side of Interstate 5 just before the Stonebridge subdivision.

The sophomore at California State University, Fresno is in dire need of blood in her continuing fight against acute lymphocytic leukemia, or ALL, which is being complicated by the Philadelphia Chromosome. Her initial response to the ALL treatment had been good but this chromosomal abnormality, which makes this type of ALL particularly aggressive, has made it more difficult to treat the disease.
To make an appointment for Sunday’s blood drive, or for additional information, call Mike Chavez at (209) 941-0420.

Donors will need a photo ID with date of birth to donate blood.
