LATHROP — The Lathrop Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a man believed to have exposed himself to a young girl Tuesday afternoon.

According to San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Les Garcia, deputies are currently searching for a Hispanic male, reportedly heavyset and between 30 and 35 years old and driving a white utility style van, that they suspect is targeting young females between the ages of 7 and 11.

He was last seen on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 3:30 p.m. on the 700 block of Stonebridge Drive where deputies believe he exposed himself to young girls walking home from Joseph Widmer Elementary School.

The man may be involved with the rash of indecent exposure incidents that started in the community 18 months ago and were never solved.

Anybody with any information is urged to contact the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department at 209.468.4400.
