A crab dinner is on the horizon for the first of the year with Manteca’s McFall-Grisham American Legion Post 249.  Post Commander Penny Winston presented 10 tickets to the Manteca Senior Center membership this week to allow some of their members to attend the Jan, 5 dinner at no charge.

Winston said only 250 tickets will be sold and no tickets will be sold at the door.  The donation price is $35.

Tickets may be purchased in advance from Bob Gonzales at 612-6954 or at the American Legion post in the 200 block of East Yosemite Avenue on Mondays and Wednesdays from noon until 4 p.m.

A Bronze Star presentation is scheduled on Veterans’ Day, Nov. 1,1 during ceremonies at the Manteca Library.  On Nov. 9 a Veterans’ Appreciation event is scheduled at the Senior Center from 4 until 7 p.m.  Tickets are available at the front desk at no charge and they are going fast, according to Don Reed.
