Rachelle Metcalfe and Maria ‘Lilia’ Martinez DeAredondo of the Manteca Unified School District were among the eight classified employees recognized by the San Joaquin County Office Education.
Metcalfe works in Food and Nutrition Services at Lathrop High while DeAredondo is in Security Services at Great Valley Elementary School.
They’re among the SJCOE Classified Employees of the Year.
Kelly Cabral from Tom Hawkins Elementary School (Jefferson Elementary School District) was named the 2022 Clerical and Administrative Services employee of the year.
Arthur Medina (Lincoln Unified) earned the honor as tops in Custodial and Maintenance Services while Hector Calderon (one.Program, SJCOE) was the Health and Student Services employee of the year.
SJCOE also announced Mary Gomes of Waterloo Elementary School (Linden Unified) as the Paraprofessional of the year, Stockton Unified’s Debra Yanez as the top employee in Skilled Trades, and Kitty Towers of Banta Unified as Technical Services employee of the year.
The top classified employees along with SJCOE Teachers of the Year will be honored on June 9.
Each of those honored were recognized for their outstanding commitment and dedication to students in San Joaquin County.
The 2022 Teacher of the Year will be announced at the June 9 dinner sponsored by SJCOE and Premier Community Credit Union.
