Fr. Chris Varghese performed a song at the Feast of St. Anthony’s luncheon on Thursday.

He described his impromptu moment as a “movie love song” to express how much he cared about the estimated 275 seniors in attendance during this function hosted by Sr. Ann Venita Brito and her Ministry of Caring.

The luncheon was open to anyone regardless of their religious affiliation.

A majority came from places such as Valley CAPS, United Cerebral Palsy of Manteca, St. Jude Care Center, Prestige Senior Living, Almond Blossom Estate Mobil Park, and The Legion of Mary.

The free hot meal was catered by Carniceria Rosita of Tracy.

Current and former students nearby St. Anthony’s School helped out as servers.

The actual St. Anthony of Padua Feast Day is June 12.

This one was held in conjunction with Sr. Ann and her Ministry of Caring’s senior luncheon, featuring door prizes, live music, and other entertainment.

The free event is made possible by the generosity of parishioners, community members and various businesses such as Carniceria Rosita, provider of the catered lunch.
