3,389 Mantecans receive both vaccine doses

The number of people with Manteca addresses that have received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine stood at 3,389 as of Tuesday.

That reflects 5.59 percent of the targeted population of 60,638 out of 87,000 residents that health authorities say can be vaccinated. Shots have not been developed for infants, teens and younger teens. Such vaccines are not expected to be available until later this year.

There have been 8,698 Manteca residents or 14.34 percent that have had the first shot.

Ripon is the second highest in the county percentage-wise for first shot vaccinations with 18.24 percent or 2,251 of the targeted population of 12,338 and the highest of 7.70 percent or 950 for those who have had both shots. Only Escalon has higher percentages of first shot vaccinations at 18.24 percent.

Lathrop has had 2,147 or 12.82 percent of its 16,745 targeted population receive the first shot. There have been 996 or 5.95 percent that have received the second shot.

15 in Lathrop, 12 in Ripon

Eight-four people have died from COVID-19 in Manteca since the start of the pandemic mid-March of 2020.

There have been 15 deaths in Lathrop, 12 in Ripon, 5 in Escalon, 55 in Tracy, 128 in Lodi, 165 in the unincorporated areas of the county and 545 in Stockton. That reflects 1,009 deaths based on statistics that were broken down by community as of early last week. Such specific information is posted just once a week

Over deaths in San Joaquin County stood at 1,042 as of Tuesday based on the health department’s daily COVID-19 dashboard.

During the past 11 months Manteca has had 6,239 residents test positive for the virus, Lathrop 2,127, Ripon 1,128, Escalon 593, Stockton 28,303, Lodi 5,869, Tracy 6,607, and 11,368 in unincorporated areas.

 As of Tuesday at 1:37 p.m. there were 2,598 people that have tested positive for COVID-19. Not all who test are positive become ill.

There have been 66,290 cases out of 767,000 residents in San Joaquin County to test positive for COVID-19 during the past 11 months. Of those, 62,650 have recovered.
