STOCKTON — Saturday morning is the big day for many involved in the San Joaquin AgFest Junior Livestock Show.
That’s when the auction will take place at the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds, 1658 S. Airport Way.
For dedicated FFA students and 4-H Club youngsters, there’s the promise of extra spending money and even a few tears in parting ways with their livestock project.
Buyer registration begins at 7:30 followed by the auctioning of beef, sheep, market goats, rabbits and ag mechanic projects at 9 o’clock.
Swine will be auctioned off at the Dave Luis Memorial Swine Ring beginning at 9:30.
On Thursday, Weston Ranch FFA advisor Chris Livengood was proud of his students.
Briana Kennedy had just won Reserve Supreme Champion with her Market Rabbit.
“We also have the Supreme Champion Steer (overall), Supreme FFA Master Showmanship in Lambs, and the Champion Lightweight in lamb,” he said.
In addition, Livengood praised Dominic Yabut for his efforts in Horticulture.
