Thousand Trails’ Turtle Back RV Resort is back.

After being closed last year due to flooding, the resort at 703 East Williamson Road that is reached by taking Woodward Avenue to the west past the Oakwood Shores gated community has reopened.

They are celebrating on Saturday, June 2, from noon to 4 p.m. with a Good Ol’ Times Picnic featuring bounce houses, volleyball, baseball, music, hot dogs, snow cones, and popcorn. It is being built around a Manteca Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting at 12:30 p.m.

To RSVP for the event, call (209) 239-0991.

While the resort is popular with Bay Area folks, it enjoys a loyal following of people from Manteca who head out with their RVs — or load up tent equipment for camping under shady trees near the river — for a weekend of fishing, boating, Jet Skiing, enjoying the sand,  or simply relaxing. There is a billiards/game room, library, restroom/shower facilities, clubhouse, cable TV, as well as picnic and BBQ area. The resort is pet friendly.
