There's no debating who the top two academic seniors are at Ripon Christian High.
Those honors went to Maclaira Camper and Raegan Moret.
Coincidentally, they were tops on this year’s RC Speech & Debate team.
Both had 4.1 GPAs.
Camper was the valedictorian at last week’s graduation ceremony in the RC gym while Moret was honored as salutatorian.
The annual commencement exercises was a fitting finale for Camper, Moret and the rest of the Class of 2022.
“For most of us, we've been (at RC Schools) since kindergarten,” said Camper, who is the daughter of Marina and Tom Camper.
She knows the next step after graduation will be on her own. Camper will be attending Stanford University in the fall, with plans of majoring in Human Biology.
"I'll be going from (a graduating) class of 34 to a campus with thousands of students," she said.
Along with Speech & Debate, Camper also played softball for the Knights.
She’s the founder of the Environmental Club along with some other clubs on campus – Daughters of the King Bible Studies, History Club, Friday Morning Bible Studies, to name a few.
"I know college will be an adjustment. But I'll do so with my core values," Camper said, crediting her parents and the RC community for instilling her strong religious beliefs.
Moret, who is the salutatorian for the RC Class of 2022, has similar religious beliefs and core values.
She'll be attending Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, leaning towards going into Nursing.
Raegan Moret, who is the daughter of Kriste and Randy Moret, has been in RC since her preschool days.
She was involved in several clubs in high schools, including Daughters of the King Bible Studies, College Prep, Close Up Club, Environmental Club, History Club, and Friday Morning Bible Studies.
