“Hot Rod Holly” and John D’Agostino will be among the special guests at Truck ’N Mania.
That’s the car show sponsored by Jackson Rancheria and Chicken Ranch Casino scheduled for Sunday, May 22, at the Paulsen Ranch, 1504 W. Bowman Road, French Camp, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Featured will be all years – makes and models – of trucks, El Caminos and Rancheros.
General admission is $10 (those 10 and under are free), and $5 for seniors and military.
Those looking to enter their vehicles can do so from now to the day of the event. Early entry fee is $35 and $45 on the day of the event. Registration on the day of the event will begin at 8 a.m.
Proceeds will go towards the Bike for Kids free giveaway Father’s Day event in June.
“Hot Rod Holly” is best known for sporting her 1956 Chevy pickup named ‘Lil Bubba.’ She was also one of the first models to appear in the Mitzi & Co calendar
D’Agostino is a leader car customizer. He was influenced by the likes of George Barris, Gene Winfield, Bill Hines, and Darryl Starbird, to name a few.
His first custom car was a ’56 Chevy hardtop in which he molded and had painted in a two-tone royal triton.
Truck’ N Mania will also feature Paulsen’s World-Famous Hot Dogs along with vendors and food by Fagundes Meats.
Event shirts along with a 50 / 50 raffle and beverages will also be available.
As for Bike for Kids, Paulsen has over 150 used bicycles in need of being fixed up prior to distribution.
Since 2018, he’s renovated bikes to go towards needy children – free, no questions asked – getting help from volunteers along the way.
Volunteers are again needed to help in fixing up of the bikes.
This is the first time of doing the bike giveaway during the summer. The previous years of Bike for Kids have been held once a year during the holiday season.
