A change order was approved by the Ripon City Council on the Fleet Maintenance Facility Project that’s part of the new corporate yard.
The additional $1,466 was necessitated by the designed changes to the Modesto Irrigation District and South San Joaquin County Irrigation District easements.
No discussion was necessary on the change order – the cost will be paid via the Sewer Capital Enterprise Fund.
The Fleet Maintenance Project was awarded to Diede Construction, Inc. back in December for $11.1 million.
Work includes construction of the 12,500-square-foot maintenance building featuring three maintenance bays, office space, locker rooms, support spaces, and parking lot at the city-owned property at 444 Doak Blvd.
A change order was also approved in March for $288,6222 to raise the elevation of the existing berm at the Wastewater Treatment Plant disposal ponds in order to provide additional storage capacity.
A new facility is needed with the Public Works Department having long outgrown the aging Corporate Yard at Vera Avenue, just off Doak Boulevard.
