The City of Manteca is offering residents a chance to participate in a recycling program that will give others the gift of sight.

The city is partnering with the Lions Clubs to stage a “Second Chance Week” Nov. 4-8 to collect used eyeglasses.

The eyeglasses will be repaired by Lions in Sight and then donated to people in need of new glasses but who can’t afford them.

Collection boxes for the five day drive will be placed in all municipal buildings as well as the Manteca Library.
