Plans for Manteca’s first dedicated comedy club are before the Manteca Planning Commission tonight.
The commission meets at 6 p.m. at the Civic Center, 1001, West Center St.
The Deaf Puppy Comedy Club is planned for the building that once housed Tammy’s Baby Shoppe in the 100 block of North Main Street in downtown.
The 8,400-square-foot building will include:
*A 1,678-square-foot showroom to seat 140 people.
*A 575-square-foot lounge to seat 48 people.
*A prep kitchen for reheating food.
*Offices and a green room for performers.
*Two restrooms.
Within two years of opening, plans are to paint a mural on the south facing wall that is currently blank.
There are two other items before the Planning Commission tonight.
*A new 910-square-foot office building at 210 North Street between Maple and Sycamore avenues.
*A Cingular Warless cell tower at 1125 North Union Road on property owned by the First Christian Church of Manteca.
