Commons at Union Ranch car show helps GECAC
Union Ranch car show
Mike Herrera’s maroon 1954 Ford F-100 took second place at the local car show benefiting Give Every Child A Chance.

The Commons at Union Ranch’s annual Season of Happy Days Classic Car & Motorcycle event held last month attracted 45 entries.

The theme was the nifty fifties with those from the senior living facility located at 2241 N. Union Road dressed in polka dots.

Proceeds from this sixth annual event once again went to the  free local tutorial services of Give Every Child A Chance.

“Last year, (GECAC) was able to tutor 800 kids from our event,” said The Commons’ Sales & Marketing Director Deanna De Dios.

Some 200 attended the benefit event consisting of deejay Daniel Ruvalcaba along with Elvis impersonator Mike Enos, photo booth and raffle prizes.

“This was a successful community event,” said De Dios.

As for the car show, Kenneth Cooper and his 1929 Ford sedan took first place.

Mike Herrera and his maroon 1954 Ford F-100 came in second place while Roger Williams and his blue 1955 Ford Thunderbird placed third.

All told, The Commons raised $1,100 from the car show.
