Residents of the Manteca Care & Rehabilitation Center saw their holiday wishes fulfilled on Tuesday.
Even without Jolly Old Santa Claus.
"Their Christmas celebration actually started last week with a candlelight dinner," said Debbie Robles, who is the activities director at Manteca Care & Rehab.
The annual Christmas Eve was still a hit with the residents even without Santa. They enjoyed the festive decorations along with the Christmas carolers, treats, and the gifts.
The latter was made possible by the Giving Tree at Precision Automotive.
In the weeks leading to this special event at Manteca Care & Rehab., donors plucked a "bulb" from the tree with a patient's name and wish list.
According to Robles, they requested items such as perfume, body wash and lotion along with blankets, slippers and even their favorite flavored soft drinks.
Donors were invited to share in this year's festivities with the residents, Robles said.
Altogether, she distributed 135 gifts, with some of her staff members "adopting" a patient at the nursing home facility.
"This is the 13th year we've done (the Christmas Eve party)," Robles said.
