deGraaF, Zuber & Wheeler in early lead for three Ripon council seats

The first of the mail-in ballots had incumbents Daniel de Graaf and Leo Zuber ahead in the race for three seats on the Ripon City Council, according to the San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters.

With 25.45 percent of votes, de Graaf led the way with 2,388 votes. Zuber had 2,181 – Mayor Jake Parks, after two terms, opted against running for re-election, opening a spot for one of the challengers.

CPA Tim Wheeler and Tracy Chamber of Commerce CEO Tamra Spade had 1,920 and 1,706 votes, respectively.

Richard Kohl tallied 1,131 votes.

 The numbers  represent ballots counted as 12:01 a.m. today.
