Driving without a valid license is not only illegal – it puts everyone on the road at risk.

So said the City of Lathrop Police Department over the weekend following a recent stop of a driver of a truck with multiple vehicle code violations.

“The driver, who was unlicensed, had just retrieved the same vehicle from the tow yard after it was previously impounded by (our department),” said local police via social media.

They added, “unfortunately, instead of taking steps to get properly licensed, he was back behind the wheel – resulting in another citation and another tow.”

Officer Cantellano was the one who made the vehicle stop only to come across the repeat offender.

DMV is there to help drivers get licensed the right way, said police, who pointed out that “a valid license is always cheaper than a tow.”
