Guerrero, Greene, Duncan leading for MUSD; Hobbs ahead in Ripon for contested positons

Marisella Guerrero was the frontrunner for Manteca Unified School District’s Trustee Area 7 seat.

According to the San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters Office, the pharmacist / university professor / mother of two led incumbent Bob Wallace, 1,481-664. Former Manteca City Councilmember Mike Morowit was third with 635 votes while Christina Campoy-Laughlin tallied 500 votes.

Those were the numbers reported by ROV shortly after midnight.

In MUSD Trustee Area 3, educator Melanie Greene was leading appointed board member Karen Pearsall, 3,154 to 906.

Trustee Eric Duncan was the only incumbent en route to another four years. In the race for MUSD Trustee Area 1, he had a 1,575 to 618 advantage over challenger Lilia Lara Barbosa.

At Ripon Unified, provisional-appointed board member Vince Hobbs led Michelle Monroe for Trustee Area 2 short-term seat, 492 to 216.

Board President Caroline Hutto and Trustee Christina Orlando were unopposed in their re-election bid, thus, retaining their school board seats
