Lathrop Police arrest auto burglary suspect

A suspected car burglar was arrested in Lathrop on Friday after he was observed rummaging through vehicles on O Street. 

Kevin Poole, 34, was apprehended by Lathrop Police Services after he was identified by deputies who were responding to reports that somebody was looking into and rummaging through cars on O Street. Poole fled on foot when he saw officers responding and was eventually caught and arrested. 

Poole, who was in possession of stolen property when officers searched him, was transported to the San Joaquin County Jail where is being held on a $70,000 bond for two misdemeanor counts related to the theft and fleeing officers and a felony count of knowingly receiving stolen property. He is scheduled to appear in Department 1 of the Manteca branch of the San Joaquin County Superior Court on Tuesday, July 30, at 1:25 p.m.
