The night-shift officers of the City of Lathrop Police Department conducted traffic stops as way to address traffic and pedestrian safety.

“Officers continued responding to emergency calls and providing public assistance across the community,” said local police via social media.

Traffic stops were made for red light and stop sign violations, unsafe turns, speeding, and reckless driving.

These stops, police said, led to locating those with suspended licenses, impaired driving, and individuals with outstanding warrants.

Key incidents included:

·         A Mercedes Benz AMG impounded for 30 days due to reckless driving.

·         An intoxicated driver discovered to be unconscious behind the wheel with the vehicle still running and in gear.

With zero tolerance for impaired drivers, Lathrop police continued to show that they’re committed towards maintaining safe streets for all who live and travel through the city, encouraging those who may have had too much to drink to remember always designate a sober driver.
