Love Manteca this Saturday needs volunteers

Love Manteca on Saturday has 313 people registered with room for almost 200 more to tackle three-hour long endeavors to improve Manteca.

There are 19 project sites between 9 a.m. to noon. To register go to lovemanteca.com to register for the Saturday, April 24, event.

They will not assemble together beforehand due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Instead teams and individuals taking part in the annual beautification of the city event scheduled Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon will go directly to their project site.

Organizers are hoping for over 500 participants – ranging from the three HOPE Ministries Family Shelters and front office coupled with the Love’s Treasurers Ministry’s storage and garage sale, for starters.

The Tidewater Bikeway with 3.4 miles of walking, running and cycling trails needs work spreading mulch along the four of the main cross streets and leaf mulch on Moffat Boulevard between Main Street and Spreckels Avenue, Todd said.

Organizers of Love Manteca are also looking for volunteers to write notes of appreciation for the local First Responders and spreading bark on the various playgrounds for the safety of children.

Other projects on tap include covering graffiti on the downtown dumpsters, collecting grocery carts throughout town, applying a fresh coat of paint on fire hydrants and putting together ramps to help out the elderly.
