Main Street Day is back after a year off. The 36th annual event of the Ripon Chamber of Commerce will be held on Oct. 16.

Saturday marks a return to Main Street Day in downtown Ripon.

Elected leaders are looking forward to the 36th annual event along Main Street and Stockton Avenue, featuring the Car Show, vendors, food trucks, fun activities and performances on the Community Stage, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Councilman Michael Restuccia, for one, anticipates a strong turnout. “We didn’t have (Main Street Day) last year,” he said at Tuesday’s City Council meeting.

The reason for that was the COVID-19 pandemic.

Councilman Dean Uecker chimed in by inviting those in attendance to drop in at Oktoberfest afterward hosted by American Legion Post 190, from 3 to 8 p.m. On the menu for adults is beer and brats for $40. Children (age 12 and under) can enjoy a hotdog meal for $7. Log on to www.americanlegionripon.com.

As Main Street Day, the Ripon Chamber of Commerce posted that all spots are filled, from vendors to the vehicles entered into the Car Show.

Kicking off the festivities is the Ripon Consolidated Fire District hosting the pancake breakfast.

The Ripon High chapter of Future Farmers of America will feature a petting zoo while the Ripon Memorial Library is conducting a book sale.

In addition, many of the downtown shops and restaurants are expected to be open, welcoming locals and visitors.
