Man is found dead hanging from tree along Moffat Blvd.

A man in his 30s was found late Tuesday afternoon hanging from a tree in the 1700 block of Moffat Boulevard near Austin Road.

Manteca Police responded to a 5:35 p.m. call and found the man who appeared to be Hispanic who was hanging from a tree. The man that police said appeared to be between 30 and 35 years of age was pronounced dead at the scene.

The location was in a grassy area to the north of nearby businesses and directly south of Highway 99.

Due to the circumstances surrounding the incident, Manteca Police Detectives were notified and responded to the scene. Detectives assumed investigative responsibility for the case. The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office was also notified to conduct a Coroner’s investigation as well.

The identity of the individual will be determined by the Coroner’s Office and will be released by them once proper notifications to family are completed. No other information regarding the incident is being released at this time due to the continuing active investigation.
